Born on October 10, 1884 (under the name Sodh Mikaewnoi), Luang Phor Sodh was ordained a monk in 1906 and later became a major figure in Thai Dharma. He was called to Wat Paknam Bhasicharoen and assumed leadership of the temple there in the early twentieth century, before becoming its abbot. He taught meditation intensively to both monks and laypeople, while also developing Dharma study within the monastery. He received the monastic rank of Phramongkolthepmuni in 1957 and passed away on February 3, 1959 .
