Antique carpenter’s squaring axe head – Brittany
Antique carpenter’s axe head from Brittany, probably dating from the late 19th or very early 20th century. Its wide blade and 2.4 kg weight evoke the squaring of timber beams.
This 30 cm piece features a beautiful patina and a faded marking that appears to read "DURGO". The top of the socket is flattened from the strikes received during its use. The head is preserved in good condition, without a handle.
