Antique Thai Pa Yant entirely hand-drawn, dating from the 1980s/90s. This piece takes the unique form of a long, triangular red fabric pennant, covered in sacred characters and handwritten ritual formulas.

Unlike Pa Yants primarily intended to be carried or kept as personal talismans, this pennant was meant to be used as protection during the rituals of making and consecrating amulets.

The inscriptions follow the two long sides of the pennant and converge toward its tip. Several groups of sacred characters also occupy its central part. The entire piece was created manually: it is not a printed design. The minor irregularities in the strokes directly testify to this artisanal and ritual creation.

This type of object held a place in the ceremonial environment during the creation or consecration of amulets, symbolically participating in protecting the ritual space from undesirable influences.

Specifications:

  • 💫 Benefits/powers: Protection of the ritual space during the making and consecration of amulets.
  • 📐 Dimensions: 42 cm X 17 cm (frame 55 cm X 25 cm)

🔺 A silent witness to the ceremonies during which sacred objects were born, this pennant still bears on its fabric the characters drawn by hand to protect the ritual space. Its long tip seems to lead the sacred formulas toward a single goal: to preserve the place where matter, prayers, and spiritual intention came together to give birth to amulets.
