Phra Somdej Amulet, Pim Chinabunchon, Tiger Skin color
This very beautiful Phra Somdej amulet, Pim Chinabunchon model, was consecrated in 1996 by the highly venerable Luang Phor Pae of Wat Pikhun Thong, in Singburi province.
Its so-called "tiger skin" color is distinguished by fine black and cream marbling with ochre undertones. These sinuous lines run across the relief of the Buddha and continue on the reverse, giving this piece a particularly singular visual presence.
On the front, the Buddha seated in meditation on a multi-tiered pedestal appears under an arch. The reverse features a portrait of the highly venerable Luang Phor Pae in relief along with inscriptions. The whole is highlighted by a silver-colored reliquary bordered with transparent decorative stones, the upper part of which forms a delicately crafted crown.
