🙏🏽 This rare ancient medal, known as the "Nine Somdej," was consecrated in 1968 at the prestigious Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat in Suphanburi, a revered site in Thai Buddhist tradition. It is a testament to a grand blessing ceremony that brought together many eminent monks, enhancing its spiritual power and historical value.

On the obverse, the medal features the portraits of nine venerable masters, each recognized for their merits and spiritual influence:

  • His Holiness the Supreme Patriarch – Wat Phra Chetuphon
  • Luang Pho Pleung – Wat Suwannaphum
  • Luang Pu Toh – Wat Lad Tal
  • Luang Pho Kham – Wat Nor Phutthangkur
  • Luang Pho Mui – Wat Don Rai
  • Luang Pho Taem – Wat Phra Loi
  • Luang Pho Odd – Wat Sala Khao
  • Luang Pho Som – Wat Don Bubpharam
  • Luang Pu Pho – Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat

The reverse depicts a grand, majestic chedi accompanied by King Naresuan fighting on the back of an elephant, an emblematic scene of courage, protection, and spiritual sovereignty.

Please note that this medal shows significant wear, as it has been worn for decades. This is the original 1968 version, not a modern, "brand new" re-issue as found widely elsewhere...

Features:

  • 🛕 Temple: Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat, Suphanburi
  • ✨ Deity: Nine Venerables + King Naresuan
  • 📐 Dimensions: 50 mm x 20 mm
  • ⚓ Weight: 9 grams

🔥 Worn as a talisman, this medal embodies the convergence of blessings from nine great masters, offering protection, merit, and spiritual guidance to its bearer.
