This protective talisman Mae Kru ( Master's Wood ) is a very ancient type of amulet
and now not very widespread. Venerable Phra Ajarn Thep inherited his family lineage
the rites of making this talisman and sometimes still makes small series of them
for his disciples and visitors.

This protective talisman Mae Kru ( Master's Wood ) is a very ancient type of amulet
and now not very widespread. Venerable Phra Ajarn Thep inherited his family lineage
the rites of making this talisman and sometimes still makes small series of them
for his disciples and visitors.

This Mae Kru talisman is made of a bamboo, filled with a mixture of plants
and sacred minerals, with prayers engraved on the bamboo
and on the two lead rings that surround it.

It is a protection against the dangers of forest life, against wild and poisonous animals and also against evil spirits.
Sometimes the Mae Kru may start to "vibrate" to warn you
of danger, it is then absolutely necessary to take it into account
and leave where you are without delay.

This amulet can also be used as a base for making a "magic wand" (some large Mae Kru are actually the Thai version of a magic wand) by placing it in a hollow wand (either turned wood, or simply bamboo or even a copper tube) which can be added with crystals and other amulets if desired.
