This magnificent ancient votive tablet in dark terracotta represents a celestial Apsara dancer , immortalized in full graceful posture, typical of classical Khmer art. Sculpted in bas-relief with great finesse despite the erosion of time, this mythological female figure embodies divine beauty, elegance and sacred movement.

The Khmer style of this tablet evokes the frescoes of Angkor Wat, where Apsaras adorned the walls of temples to embody the union of the spiritual and the aesthetic.
This influence is found here in the details of the headdress, the dance posture and the hand gestures (mudrā), symbols of blessing and enchantment.
