The Most Venerable LP Moon Tithasilo (1894 – 2003) – Wat Banjan (Sri Saket)
This collection is dedicated to one of the most illustrious monks of the Thai forest monk tradition: Luang Phor Moon Tithasilo , of Wat Banjan, in the province of Sri Saket. A legendary monk with an extraordinary career, he is considered one of the most accomplished Masters of the 20th century. Born in 1894 and died in 2003 at the age of 109, he saw five kings pass to the throne of Siam, from Rama V to Rama IX.
A Master rooted in ancient tradition
Born into a poor farming family, LP Moon was born on April 15, 1894, in Sri Saket Province. He became a novice at the age of 14 at Wat Banjan, under the guidance of Venerable Phra Ajarn Siddha. He received full ordination in 1917, at the age of 23.
Shortly after, he left the temple and would not return to Wat Banjan until sixty years later, in 1977. During all these decades, he led the life of a Thudong hermit, wandering in the Thai forest, following to the letter the strict rules of the Vinaya and the discipline of the original tradition of the forest monks.
A traveler in search of knowledge and spiritual powers
Luang Phor Moon traveled on foot through Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia, often in extremely harsh conditions. He set out to meet Masters capable of transmitting to him the secrets of the Dharma as well as sacred magic. These journeys took him into wild jungles, at a time when roads and vehicles did not yet exist.
Mastery of the occult arts
LP Moon received several authentic magical lineages from renowned Masters:
-
Making sacred powders according to the lineage of Phra Puttajarn Toh, learned from Phra Ajarn Sri Chantasiri.
-
Alchemy and ritual forging (magical alloys and Meedh Moh) with Luang Phor Pae, Luang Phor Ngern and Luang Phor Kham.
Powerful amulets, recognized by the Masters
Amulets blessed by Luang Phor Moon are renowned for their effectiveness. Even the most venerable Luangta Mahabua recommended that his disciples obtain them if they sought genuine spiritual protection. These amulets have been associated with numerous miraculous survival stories, including that of two disciples who escaped the collapse of the World Trade Center towers while wearing LP Moon medals.
