Biography of the Most Venerable Luang Phor Djua Piyasillo from Wat Klang Bang Keow

Luang Phor Djua Piyasillo (also known as Luang Pu Chuea Piyasilo) was one of the most respected monks in Nakhon Pathom province, Thailand. Born on May 15, 1925, in Nakhon Chai Si district, he dedicated his entire life to the practice of Theravāda Buddhism and the transmission of spiritual knowledge from the famous Wat Klang Bang Keow.

Origins and youth

From a humble farming family, Luang Phor Djua spent his childhood helping his parents in the rice fields after receiving a traditional primary education at a local temple. Early on, he was drawn to spirituality and developed a deep faith in the teachings of the Buddha.

Ordination and spiritual training

At the age of 26, he entered monastic life at Wat Klang Bang Keow, an ancient temple founded during the Ayutthaya period and renowned for its esoteric lineages.

He was ordained under the guidance of the most venerable Luang Pu Pherm Punyasavano, one of the most influential masters of this temple. He intensively studied sacred texts and achieved the Nak Tham Ek level, the highest degree of Dharma study in the Thai tradition.

Monastic journey and role in the temple

Recognized for his discipline, wisdom, and compassion, Luang Phor Djua was appointed vice-abbot of Wat Klang Bang Keow in 1985. Despite the immense respect he commanded, he repeatedly refused the position of abbot, preferring to remain in direct service to the community and his disciples.

Mastery of sacred sciences and amulets

Heir to a very ancient esoteric lineage, he became famous for consecrating sacred objects and powerful amulets. He perpetuated the temple's magical traditions, including:

  • Protection and compassion amulets (Metta Mahaniyom)
  • Talismans against black magic (Bia Gae)
  • Sacred statues and blessed ritual objects
  • Yantra cloths and traditional remedies

His creations were renowned for their spiritual efficacy and attracted devotees throughout Thailand and internationally.

Spiritual legacy

Luang Phor Djua is considered one of the last great masters of the magical lineage of Wat Klang Bang Keow, inherited from ancient masters specialized in sacred sciences and protective talismans.

His practice was based on monastic discipline, meditation, and the transmission of ancient knowledge blending Buddhism and Thai esoteric traditions.

Death

He passed away on December 29, 2009, at Wat Klang Bang Keow, after more than 50 years spent in monastic life. His passing deeply affected his disciples and amulet collectors, who continue to venerate his creations today.

Conclusion

The Most Venerable Luang Phor Djua Piyasillo remains a major figure in contemporary Thai Buddhism. His spiritual legacy, transmitted through his teachings and sacred amulets, continues to inspire practitioners and collectors worldwide.
