Alchemical amulet Phra Somdej and Phra Pidta – Wat Huay Jorakei (Nakhon Pathom)
This rare alchemical amulet comes from Wat Huay Jorakei ( Nakhon Pathom province), a major center of Thai esoteric tradition. It depicts a double protective Buddha : Phra Somdej in meditation, a symbol of stability and wisdom, surmounted by Phra Pidta , the Buddha who covers his eyes, guardian of mystical secrets and absolute protection.
Crafted from a high-quality alchemical alloy called “Mekkasit,” this amulet unites blessed metals from various monastic consecrations: copper, ritual silver, and essence of sacred tin, fused together under the recitation of mantras to create a highly charged metallic vibration. The alloy's golden and green reflections attest to its excellent composition and enduring blessing.
The front features a stylized Phra Somdej : a three-tiered base, a protective arch, and a central seal surmounted by the Phra Pidta , symbolizing the closing of the six sensory gates and the victory of pure consciousness over worldly distractions. This rarely encountered model was reserved for devotees living near the temple.

The union of Phra Somdej and Phra Pidta creates a unique synergy: the enlightened wisdom of the one and the invisible protection of the other. The alchemical alloy Mekkasit, made from blessed metals, acts as a conductor of spiritual energy , balancing the wearer's vibrational fields and strengthening inner peace.
Forged in the silence of the temple, this amulet holds the memory of the sacred fire. Through the monk's prayer, the metal became light; and in that light remained the promise of an invisible shield, a gleam of wisdom enveloped in the very matter of the world.
