Beautiful large amulet of the Thai goddess of fertility and harvests Mae Posop.

These Mae Posop amulets were produced and painted by hand
by an Ajarn from the Ubon Ratchathani region
mainly intended for local farmers to help them
to have good harvests and fertile animals.
These amulets are relatively large in size and can be
either worn as a pendant or placed on a small fertility altar.

Mae Posop is the goddess of rice, harvests and fertility in general.
and is the Thai equivalent of the ancient Goddess Demeter,
his cult is still important today and also in the Thai language
the verb " to eat " is Kin-Kao ,
which can literally be translated as eating...rice!
We can clearly see here the extreme importance of this cereal without which in the past
human life would have been impossible,
which explains the immense respect for the Goddess of Rice.
Mae Posop is a specific aspect of the Hindu goddess of wealth Lakshmi .
