📿 Ancient Sacred Phra Somdej Muan Beads from Nakhon Pathom

These ancient Phra Somdej Muan amulets come in the form of large, primitive sacred beads, crafted from light, time-patinated terracotta. Their irregular surface, traces of wear, and softened reliefs testify to their great antiquity. Traditionally, these beads were made from earth and relics from various sacred Buddhist sites.

Each bead bears an image of the Phra Somdej Buddha, a highly revered form in Thai Buddhist tradition. These amulets are over 100 years old and belong to a rare category of votive objects sometimes discovered during excavation work in ancient temples in Thailand.

These particular beads come from the Nakhon Pathom region, an ancient land of Siamese Buddhism, known for its deep connection to Thailand's early Buddhist traditions. Their raw and archaic appearance enhances their mysterious character, as if they have passed through time, retaining a silent imprint of devotion.
These beads can be worn as an amulet or added to a Buddhist rosary (mala).

Features:

  • ✨ Deity: Phra Somdej
  • 📐 Dimensions: 25 to 30 mm
  • ⚓ Weight: Approximately 15 grams.
  • A suitable sai-sin cord is offered with each Phra Somdej Muan bead.

🌕 These ancient beads seem to carry the memory of the sacred earth from which they originated. Their simple, almost primitive form evokes forgotten votive deposits, buried prayers, and silent blessings left in temples over generations. They do not shine with luxury, but with the invisible depth of their presence.
