This beautiful bronze statuette represents the Buddha standing with both hands raised.
This posture recalls a legend concerning a miracle of the Buddha.
One day on the seaside the Buddha
had a discussion with three arrogant hermits, who said
have more knowledge and magical powers than him.
At that moment the Buddha calmed a storm simply by raising his hands.
The three hermits were amazed, and they and their thousand disciples
became monks and disciples of the Buddha.

This Thai amulet of the standing Buddha is clearly ancient
both for its primitive style and its beautiful patina.
