This is a Phra Somdej Pim Lang Jin amulet, made between 1970 and 1972 at Wat Rakhang , a historic temple linked to the legendary Somdej Toh. These editions are called Lang Jin (Chinese back) because of the Chinese characters visible on the back.
On the reverse, we can see the inscription鄭皇 (Zheng Huang) , which is found on some series. This marking probably refers to King Taksin (鄭信大帝), a figure venerated by the Sino-Thai community, and testifies to the cultural and spiritual influence of Chinese traders in Bangkok in the production of these amulets.
This type of Somdej was produced at a time when Wat Rakhang sought to perpetuate the spiritual heritage of Ajarn Toh while also embracing the support of the Chinese community. These rare pieces thus combine the power of traditional Somdej with unique intercultural symbolism.
