Ancient Phra Khunpen Amulet in Khmer Style
This rare Khmer-style amulet depicts Phra Khunpen with his faithful Khuman Thong on his lap, while on the reverse appears another intimate scene of Khunpen with one of his companions. Consecrated around 1990 by Venerable Luang Phor Tiang Napapangalo (1936โ2016) of Wat Phra Phutthabat Khao Kadong (Buriram), it testifies to the power of local esoteric traditions.
The condition of this piece clearly shows its antiquity: the front face is partially covered with a natural green concretion , giving the amulet a unique patina, a sign of its authenticity and its long spiritual path. Despite its wear, the outline of Khunpen and his companions can still be distinguished, making this object both mysterious and fascinating.
