Khao Tok Phra Ruang Sacred Stones – Set of 3 Protection and Fertility Stones
Ancient writings tell that the Khao Tok Phra Ruang stones were originally a sacred rice that appeared in the region of Wat Khao Phra Bat Yai in Sukhothai, derived from the sacred words of Buddha Phra Ruang.
On that day, the Buddha Phra Ruang prepared food and threw the remaining rice from his bowl onto the temple floor, saying a prayer: "May this rice transform into different kinds of sacred stones and multiply over the centuries for the benefit of future generations."
For the elders of Sukhothai, the Khao Tok Phra Ruang stone was considered an extremely precious sacred object. Warriors carried it into battle, and hunters took it into the forest for protection against unseen dangers and injuries.
Farmers buried these stones in their rice fields to increase crop fertility. Women desiring a child carried one with them in the hope of promoting fertility.
Today, these sacred stones are still believed to bring protection, blessings, prosperity, happiness, and inner peace. In the past, Khao Tok Phra Ruang stone was also ground into a powder and mixed with lime juice to treat scorpion and snake bites. This powder was also used in the making of precious Buddha amulets.
