🌟 Golden amulet representing the famous chedi of Phra That Phanom , in the province of Nakhon Phanom . This small, refined piece was produced in 2012, using an unusual sacred material: melted gold from the offerings left by worshippers at the foot of the stupa .

In Thai Buddhism, gold offerings are considered a substance of the highest karmic purity, crystallizing the merits, faith, and wishes of thousands of pilgrims. Melting it down to make an amulet is tantamount to concentrating the collective virtue of an entire community into a single object.

The Phra That Phanom chedi is one of the most sacred in northeastern Thailand. It contains relics of the Buddha, and its slender figure has become a symbol of protection, faith, and blessing.
