Ancient medal of Luang Phor Phra Pasit (Phrakru Boonyen) with Khuman Thong Somdej Phrommaraj from Wat Chao Phrom Maharat
This ancient Thai Buddhist medal was consecrated in 1977 at Wat Chao Phrom Maharat, Chiang Mai, and pays homage to the Most Venerable Luang Phor Phra Pasit, also known as Phrakru Boonyen. It features on the front the image of the master seated in the lotus position, in a meditation posture imbued with serenity and spiritual authority.
The reverse shows a standing Khuman Thong named Somdej Phrommaraj, depicted in a noble and protective form. This association between the venerable and this sacred figure gives the medal a particular presence, both pious, protective and deeply rooted in the Thai ritual universe.
The ancient style of this piece, its expressive relief and its beautiful surface patina make it an interesting object for collectors of traditional amulets, but also for practitioners sensitive to talismans related to monastic blessing, spiritual protection and the invisible forces of popular Thai Buddhism.
