Old Tibetan 7 1/2 Skar Copper Coin Pendant with Snow Lion
This ancient Tibetan pendant is made from an authentic 7 1/2 Skar Tibetan coin, mounted in a custom reliquary designed to hold the coin without damaging it.
Minted between 1918 and 1922, under the governance of His Holiness the 13th Dalai Lama Thubten Gyatso, this copper coin features a rare eight-petal lotus flower shape.
One side features the Snow Lion, a major emblem of Tibet, symbolizing power, spiritual vitality, fearlessness, and protection. The other side shows a stylized eight-spoked Dharma wheel, evoking the Noble Eightfold Path, with a Gankyil at its center, an ecstasy swirl linked to the indivisibility of Dzogchen teachings.

The partially erased Tibetan inscription reads: "Dga ldan pho brang phyogs las rnam rgyal", meaning "the palace of Ganden, victorious in all directions". Ganden here refers to the traditional residence of the Dalai Lamas within Drepung Monastery.
