Chinese Amulet Sutra of the protector Guan Yin .

This Chinese amulet consists of a booklet containing the text of the Guan Yin Sutra (which is a very popular excerpt from the Lotus Sutra).

Here is a translation of this text:
If a man were to be thrown into a pit full of fire by an evil being who would destroy him, he only has to remember Avalokitesvara, and the fire will be extinguished as if it were sprinkled with water.
If a man were to fall into the dread ocean, which is the abode of the Nagas, sea monsters and Asuras, let him remember Avalokitesvara who is the king of the inhabitants of the seas, and he will never sink into the water.
If a man were to be thrown from the top of Mount Meru by an evil being who wanted to destroy him, he only had to remember Avalokitesvara who is like the sun,
and it will float, without falling, in the middle of the sky.
If mountains of diamond were to fall upon a man's head to destroy him, let him remember Avalokitesvara, and those mountains would not be able to remove even a hair from his body.
If a man is surrounded by a troop of enemies, armed with their swords and thinking only of destroying him, he has only to remember Avalokitesvara, so that in an instant his enemies will conceive benevolent thoughts in his favor.
If someone, having approached a place of execution, were to fall into the hands of the executioner, he only has to remember Avalokitesvara, for the executioner's sword to break into a thousand pieces.
If a man is surrounded by fierce beasts and wild animals, terrible, armed with tusks and sharp claws, let him remember Avalokitesvara, and these animals will immediately disperse to the ten points of space.
If a man finds himself surrounded by reptiles of a terrible aspect, emitting poison from their eyes, and spreading around them a brightness similar to flame, he will only have to remember Avalokitesvara, and these animals will be stripped of their poison.
