🪷 Here is a unique and deeply moving piece: an antique hand-painted papier-mâché box of Indian origin, containing a small collection of carefully preserved Buddhist relics.

The heart of this box houses a terracotta votive tablet adorned with four Buddhas , a sober and touching representation of the path to Enlightenment. Around this effigy, a constellation of amber-hued sarira beads illuminates the interior, accompanied by three white relic beads , most likely from the sacred caves of Khao Sam Roi Yot in Thailand, a place highly venerated by pilgrims and ancient masters.

This composition was entrusted to our shop by a Thai collector, and it goes without saying that it constitutes a unique piece , bringing together sacred art, ancient relics and a timeless mystical aura.

Approximate box dimensions: 8 x 6.5 cm x 5 cm.
Total weight: approximately 150 grams.

Reliquary : Antique papier-mâché box decorated with hand-painted flowers, containing the votive and relic items described above. This box dates from the 1970s/1980s and still bears an "INDIA" sticker on its base.

This modest, flower-filled box, beneath its delicate appearance, is a miniature sanctuary. The four Buddhas watching from their tablets each seem to embody a pillar of the Dharma (the four noble truths). Around them, the sarira beads shine like stars frozen in the ether of time. As for the white beads, their origin from the sacred caves of Khao Sam Roi Yot adds a rare vibrancy to this offering, a testament to the uninterrupted continuity between the ancient caves and the fervor of modern practitioners. A piece of devotion, meditation, or simply wonder.
